GLOSSIER MAKEUP REVIEW

glossier makeup flatlay

As soon as I saw all the Glossier makeup goodies that people had raved about, I knew I had to jump straight on that bandwagon. To be honest I wanted the dust to settle down a little so I wasn’t too swayed by everyone and their dog’s opinions so this is why the post is only happening now. I also did a video version of this post which I’ll link HERE if you want something to watch!

I was pretty skeptical about the Skin Tint as I’m fussy with my base products, but it is probably my favourite thing out of all of the makeup products. I use Light and I apply it on the face and rub it in with my hands. It definitely needs a bit of bronzer after as it’s quite pale, but I love the sheer finish it has. Basically, it looks like your skin but a little better. If you like lightweight barely there foundations then definitely give this a try, even if you only use it for the no ‘makeup makeup look’. I’m loving this.

Next up for base is the Stretch Concealer for those eye bags. This is (again) a super lightweight concealer that gives you a little bit of freshness under the eyes, and makes you look significantly more awake. Granted it isn’t heavy duty so it doesn’t crease (yippee) but if you don’t like the cake-y look, you’ll probably love this. I feel like this is going to last me ages too, which is always a good thing for my bank balance.

I’ve raved about the Haloscope before so I’ll keep it short and sweet here, but I have it in Moonstone and it gives the perfect glow that actually looks REAL. I know, shocker. Anything that makes my face look as healthy as Megan Markle’s is a winner in my book.

I have the cloud paint in Dusk which is a gorgeous peachy tone, and I was excited to see if this was going to live up to the hype. I must say it’s a bit easy to go overboard on this, like I did on first application. A LOT comes out quickly and I’ve learned you really don’t need too much. It blends in beautifully and ends up looking super natural, just giving you a nice wash of colour on the cheeks.

I’m no Cara, but I like to think I have a decent pair of brows and what Boy Brow does is accentuate that a little more for me. It’s *very* similar to the Benefit one but I do like it. It also is a nice shade in Blonde, as usually I find it tricky to get one that isn’t too dull or orange.

Have you tried any of these Glossier products?

LITTLE WAYS TO REFRESH YOUR DAY.

We all need a bit of a breather, and some days can feel pretty challenging. So here’s a few ways I try and get a little bit of a refresh in my busy day…

  • Have your breakfast before going on social media.
  • Go on a walk on your lunch break to get some well-needed fresh air.
  • Cook something new tonight.
  • Give yourself a manicure/pedicure.
  • Change your lock screen.
  • Get a Starbucks.
  • Delete your apps for a day- this is something I definitely want to try!
  • Turn off notifications.
  • Buy yourself some pretty blooms.
  • Compliment someone.
  • Ring your mum/sister/dad for a catch-up.
  • Put on a red lip!
  • Buy a glossy mag to read tonight instead of scrolling
  • Tell someone who inspires you WHY they inspire you!
  • Share the love on a blog post you’ve loved recently.
  • Hug, I love warm hugs. Basically Olaf.
  • Put on your favourite song.
  • Have a nap if you reeeeally need one.
  • Reorganise something.
  • Send that email you keep putting off, you’ll feel so much better after, promise.

Will you be doing any of these today?

SPENDING TIME TOGETHER FOR VALENTINES*

henry london watches

Now we are all super happy it’s February and the fact that January has finally left which felt like 89473 years, all eyes are on Valentines day and the plans we have/or do not have.

I’ve never been massively over the top enthusiastic about a certain day to show people you love them, but any day that encourages people to show love towards one another is a good one in my book and I’m not about to rain on the parade for anyone else either.

Coincidentally, Valentines Day is also a week before our anniversary so I teamed up with Henry London watches to do something a bit more special and fancy this year.

I picked a gorgeous gold and pink duo, Dan went for a rose gold and brown watch and I also had them engraved on the back of the day we got together, which I thought was a nice touch. I am obsessed with that pink face, isn’t it amazing? They have such a wide collection that it was hard to choose, so there is definitely something for everyone if you’re in the market for some new wrist candy. They have a ‘241’ sale on at the moment which means that you get a discount if you enter it into your order online! GO GO GO.

For the day itself? Due to personal circumstances I don’t think we will be venturing out anywhere special just yet, but spending real time together instead. Maybe watching a movie, having conversations that don’t involve looking at our phones, and appreciating each others companies. Which really, the day is about isn’t it?

Whether you do gifts or not, celebrate the day or let it pass by, make sure you acknowledge a loved one whether thats a boyfriend, girlfriend, parent or pet. Tell them you love them and how much you joy they bring you. That’s the most important thing.

SOME VALENTINES DAY INSPIRATION

  • Cook a meal together and celebrate the day with a nice bottle of wine.
  • Ring up someone you love and check in, see how they are.
  • Go on a woodland walk with the dog, coming home to a nice cup of tea will feel even better afterwards.
  • Dress up and go for a meal. Sometimes, it’s nice to get a bit dolled up I think.
  • Treat your other half (or yourself!) to something special! You deserve it.
  • Bake something delicious and lets be honest, if you make it red it’s definitely appropriate.
  • Book the day off and pamper and show love to YOURSELF. You might really need it.
  • Make plans for an exciting trip in the future, it doesn’t have to be limited to one day only.

How are you spending Valentines Day?
