conkers in hand

Setting myself little goals always makes me feel better than just the one New Year’s Resolutions for the whole 12 months. I like things to feel achievable or I just won’t even bother- anyone else out there feel me on this? Here’s what I want to focus on doing for the rest of this year..

I have a complicated relationship with baking. It’s not something that comes natural to me, and I’d have to say at least 30% of the stuff I’ve made in the past has ended up in the bin, my poor bank balance for those damn Holland & Barrett ingredients. I like to experiment with healthier takes on recipes as then I feel less bad for eating half of it the same day, and I’ve got my eye on a few banana bread recipes that look so delicious and perfect with my 3pm cuppa.

I’m not a fashion blogger by any means, but I definitely want to update my wardrobe this Autumn with a few new pieces. I find clothes are very closely linked with how I’m feeling in terms of confidence, so treating myself to something nice to wear is justifiable for me. I already managed to grab myself another pair of jeans and a new winter coat, so I need maybe a few new tee’s from H&M,  a cute dress to wear with some tights, ooh and some new shoes too. And lets not forget a gorgeous bag I’ve seen in Topshop that I must have. Oops, it’s going to be a spendy month.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it on the blog before, but I started my own Youtube Channel! This is because I really wanted to start filming little vlogs that I can look back on when I’m older, and I’m loving the whole filming/editing process that goes along with it. I’m trying to convince the BF to get on there with me, so stay tuned. I think it will be so lovely to capture moments of our lives that we can always re-watch. If that sounds like something you might like, please subscribe!

I thrive on comfort in my life, but where I can, I do try to leave my comfort zone and do something totally different that I wouldn’t of thought I liked, and it feels so bloody good. Sometimes there’s nothing better than proving yourself wrong and doing something you didn’t think you could. Recently, at Centreparcs, we did the High Ropes challenge and I’m still so proud of myself for actually doing it. This Autumn I want to push myself out of my comfort zone more, and considering I’m typing this after going to my first blogger event at the weekend, I’m doing pretty good so far!

What do you want to do this Autumn?

  • This is such a lovely list Natalie! That’s amazing that you did something out of your comfort zone! I think that’s something I really want to work on for the rest of this year by doing a few things differently and getting out of that comfort zone every once in a while. Lovely post! x

    • Sometimes it feels so scary, but you definitely feel so good once you push yourself to do it! xx

  • I think it’s a really good idea to set goals at the start of a month, something I might start doing! I need some new clothes too, unfortunately I’m not sure my bank balance agrees…

    • It definitely works better for me, give it a go! xx

  • Laura Emilia

I know what you mean about baking! I personally love the idea of it, but whenever I do it I just make an absolute mess and feel sick because I’ve eaten too much dough… I do want to bake a banana bread too though! The recipe on Kate La Vie’s blog looks especially yummy… xx

    • It looks incredible! Did banana bread last week. I’m deciding what to bake this weekend..

  • Baking more was one of my goals for September and I was able to make brownies and glazed donuts so I’m excited to try new recipes this Fall. I’m also trying to stretch myself and step out of my comfort zone more often. Will be checking out your YouTube channel! xx

    • They sound incredible, and thank you! That’s so kind of you x

  • Just subscribed to your YouTube channel – so exciting! I definitely want to upload more videos as well as up my fashion game for autumn! Although it is so easy to get into the habit of wearing a cozy jumper every day … Hehe 🙂

    • THANK YOU! I appreciate that so much. I’m loving jumpers at the mo <3

  • Yes absolutely think setting goals per season is a lovely idea – makes things much more achievable! I definitely think that baking is such a good little habit for autumn – compllleeetely feel ya at the potential money waste when things go wrong haha! So frustrating! I set myself the goal of creating a little capsule wardrobe and finally setting up a Depop to sell a huge load of my clothes, eep! Immy x

    • Ooh would love to hear a post about how your capulse wardrobe is going, I find them so interesting! x

  • Cheers to leaving your comfort zone! Cheering you on, always. xo

  • Georgina Grace

That’s so great that you are pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone! I’ve always struggled with this as well. There have been times when I have really surprised myself, but then there are other times when I just worry and over think everything. It’s definitely something I want to improve upon too! x

    • I always find thinking about it more makes me even more nervous to do it! x

Yeah little goals during the year better than big new years resolution is a great idea! Much easier to achive and if you do it motivates you so much more. I am guilty of wearing only comfy clotges to work. I only dress up on weekends. I need to boost the confidence a little. Hope your Autumn will be amazing! 😊

Yeah small goals instead of big New Years resolution is a great idea. Easier to achive and once you do then you are motivated so much more. I am guilty of wearing too comfy clothes. I only dress up on weekends. I need to boost my confidence a bit. Hope your Autumn is going to be amazing 😊

    • Thank you, I hope you have a lovely Autumn too! xx

  • Love these goals!! I really want to update my wardrobe this autumn, as well as get baking. I am crap at it so if I can improve any way possible, that would be great!!

I’d love to start baking more too, but I’m not very good at it at all! I like trying healthier recipes and I try not to have refined sugar and I feel like that makes it more difficult to make something edible haha!
    Amy xx

    • It totally does! I’m blaming that for being a shoddy baker!
