Here’s what I’m loving all things beauty recently…
GUERLAIN BRONZER IN ‘BLONDE’
I’ve NEVER had a fancy bronzer. But my mum got me this at Christmas, and I’ve used it every day I’ve worn makeup since. It lasts so long, does NEVER make me look orange, and just creates the look of ‘I’ve had a weekend break in the sunshine’ to my lil face. I’m really starting to appreciate higher-end makeup products… ~cue the weeping bank balance…~
SEVENTEEN LIPSTICK IN ‘BARELY BLUSH’ I’m really into this lipstick recently. Its at such a good price point (£4.99) and deposits quite a good punch of medium pink colour. As you can see, I’m not the best at describing products but I just loved this *smushed* into the lips. See? 😉
BARE MINERALS INVISIBLE LIGHT DUO
This little duo is the light of my liiiiiiiiife! I use the ‘matte’ powder all over then go in with the highlight side on the high points of my life.
Whats your favourite beauty product at the minute? Enable me PLEASE 🙂
I was never that girl that was born with good skin. Its just not in my genes unfortunately! As a teenager I had bad acne, and until a year ago (I’m 24 next month), I still had quite bad skin all the time. Now, and for the past year, my skin is looking better than ever so heres my tips…
*Please note, every skin and person is different. This is just what worked for me. *
Unfortunately I can’t find a picture when my skin was at my worst, but heres one I found of a usual picture of how it could be when it was calmed down a little. The picture on the right is my skin now with no products on, only moisturiser.
TIP 1: WATER
I’ve always been a huge water drinker so this one is easy for me to handle. On the days where I haven’t drunk as much as ideal, I notice my skin starts to look sallow and grey, purely because I’m dehydrated.
TIP 2: SUGAR + NUTRITION
Sugar is a big one for me when it comes to breakouts. If I had a very sugar laden weekend, Monday morning I’m gonna wake up with spots- its like a done deal. I try not to eat too much sugar, but have a little ‘treat’ every day in some sort (usually some chocolate!). I find that way it doesn’t break me out at all and I still feel like I’m not depriving myself either. The healthier you eat 80% of the time, the better your skin will be!
TIP 3: MAKE-UP FREE DAYS
Even now when my skin looks well, it always seems to benefit from a few make-up free days a week. Even if you can’t manage that, maybe just try and apply a bit of under-eye concealer and mascara, and let the rest of your skin breaaaathe. It will thank you for it.
TIP 4: DON’T MESS!
This is something I’m super bad at but I try my best. Picking your skin is never gonna end well. Sometimes, the urge is too strong and you give in! Then in the morning, it doesn’t look as great. Letting it be is always the best way, if you can!
Those are my top tips how I cleared my skin!
Do you have any other tips that may be useful to anyone? Have you ever had acne or skin problems? xx
If you watch my Youtube channel- link here – you’ll know I’m on a massive decluttering phase at the minute. To be honest, It’s been a weekly occurrence for a few months. Heres the lo down…
WHY I’M DOING IT?
I’m the kind of person that quite enjoys throwing unwanted things away. If I don’t need it, I don’t want to see it hanging around making the place look messy. For some reason, it gives me kind of an endorphin rush and makes me feel so great! HOW I’M DOING IT.
I don’t want to go full throttle into doing everything, because more likely than not I’ll get overwhelmed and want to do a big lay down and whimper. Every week or so I pick a category that I want to clear out and declutter, such as clothes (this was a big one and took a while. If you like I might do a separate post on this as I have lots to say!) and nail polishes (vlog on it here). I’m also thinking of doing jewellery next, then makeup, skincare/bodycare etc.
I simply get everything in that category laid out, and firstly, go through my favourites. These are the stuff that I ain’t getting rid of~ NO WAY. Next, I bag up all the things that I know I either don’t like or won’t wear, and either give that to charity or throw away.
The stuff in the middle is kind of a struggle. This is all the things that you aren’t obsessed with, yet you don’t mind them either. I just kind of tally it up in my head or picking the best of similar items (same colour top, same nail polish) and choose my favourite. To be honest, this bit is the hardest but the anti-hoarder in me just makes a quick decision and lets it be!
THE OVERALL…
There’s a great feeling when you have decluttered. Its kind of addictive! You feel lighter. I suppose that is the best way to describe it. We, as humans do not really need that much stuff. I dread to think just how over capacitated we are with STUFF.
I would definitely recommend doing it if you feel the urge! Wow, this was such a long post, I hope it was helpful to some of you! x
