If you are blogger, and tend to do it fairly regularly, chances are… you’ll start comparing your blog to other blogs at some point. Of course, none of these comparisons are usually in our own favour, as we like to put our selves down whenever we can, right? *eye roll emoji insert here*

Its something we find ourselves doing so much, it starts to feel regular. Then that’s when your motivation and inspiration to get a new post out goes there *straight* down the drain!

‘Whats the point if I don’t have as many readers as her?’

‘Maybe I should just give it up and find a new hobby’

Have you ever thought this too? When your stuck in that cycle, it does you no favours at all. Sure its okay to mope for a few minutes, but then go get yo self back on the positive train and use that girl as INSPIRATION. Does she have a picture style you can learn from? Does she mix it up with different types of posts? (Albeit, don’t copy!) Who are her blogging inspirations?

What makes everyones blog SO great and SO different is that they are all personal to us. No one’s is the same. Which I think is awesome, personally.

Theres so many different topics to cover, different opinions to have, different reviews to give.

And remember, we all started from somewhere. Your blogger inspirations had a point where they had a low following too, but they kept at it and didn’t let it be their main drive. They kept pushing on. Because they loved blogging. And if you love it too,

just blog.

Have you ever suffered from the comparison trap? If so, how did you beat it?

  • That is a lovely post full of advice which need to be said more often, especially the one about our inspiration starting out at the same point as we are!

This is a great post. I think it’s so easy to get stuck in comparison in a negative way, but I think inspiration is a great way to turn it around! Love your blog!

    Yessss preach gal! xo

  • I’ve definitely had my fair share of blogger comparisons over the past year I’ve been blogging, and no matter how much I’ve told myself I wouldn’t do it, that I wouldn’t compare myself to other people, it’s pretty inevitable. I guess in a way it can be motivation for you as it reminds you that everyone once started low, and that the numbers weren’t their top priority. I find I do better when I focus more on writing posts that benefit me, but in a way benefit other people too.
