MY BLOGGING JOURNEY SO FAR

I’m not sure I’ve ever blogged about my blogging journey before, so in comes this post! I’m kinda hoping I haven’t anyway or this would render pretty pointless.

I started blogging back in late 2015 with a blog under a different name, but I still very much wrote about the same things I do today.

I was on Blogger and I posted a few times a week for about a year, I probably had about a tenth of the followers I do currently, because I didn’t even use Twitter or Instagram back then- crazy I know right?! It never even entered my mind for some reason, but even if I got one comment it made my day.

I loved it. It was my own personal online space that felt free, welcoming, and accepting. Thankfully it still feels that way today. There’s nothing quite like it, and if you’re a fellow blogger I’m sure you know what I mean when I say that!

In March 2017 I decided I wanted to up this whole blogging thing a little, and use my own real name, put myself ‘out there’ more. I’m pretty proud to say that I actually managed to migrate over onto my own domain all by myself, although it did take me about 3 days and was SO stressful! I just bought a layout from Pipdig, most of which is still very similar now, although a few months ago I mixed the colour up a little.

I also obviously joined Twitter/Instagram/Youtube and have been blown away by how amazing the blogging community is. It’s full of the most supportive, genuinely lovely people who are all cheering you on. It’s pretty great.

Now we’re in June 2018 and I’ve blogged at least twice or three times a week since last year. I still absolutely adore blogging, it’s my favourite thing and I never want to stop doing it. Who knows what may happen in the future but I’m pretty sure I’ll never stray far from this little cosy home.

When did you start blogging? Is there anything else about blogging you’d like a post about?

I’ve been blogging for a few years now though I’ve started to pay more attention to my Instagram feed these days, but as a writer heart I still love getting some words done and making my blog look and feel how I like it.

  • I started blogging on and off around 2015! I started it for my photography progress at uni, but then when I left I began writing about a whole range of lifestyle content and it’s grown since then. It’s always nice to look back at how far you’ve come with your blogging journey! Lovely post ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

Oh I had no idea youโ€™ve been doing it for so long! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I started my own blog site in March and have worked really hard on it, which has so far paid off better than I expected.
What I’d like to know is how did you work on growing your following and your blog’s visibility on different channels? What have you found to be the best ways to go for?

    • NatalieLeanne

I definitely think social media helped so would definitely recommend having a Twitter or Instagram profile and using it reguarly, being active and chatting to other people with similiar interests to you!

  • Blogging is one of the best decisions I made. It is exciting, thrilling and hard. I wish you the best of luck.
