HOW TO CREATE AN ENGAGED AUDIENCE

notebook and crystal flatlay

I’m still a long way to where I want to be, but I feel like since posting every other day for the last couple of months, I’m on the way to creating a really great set of regular readers of this ol’ blog. My blog tips always go down so well (thank you guys) and I really wanted to create another one!

MIX UP YOUR CONTENT

If you don’t have a blog niche, like me, I mentioned it in this post, I always think it’s a great idea to blog about different topics. I love reading blogs that have such a variety of posts about all kind of things, and I know that I for one will always click on a post if its something unique that I haven’t read before. The most unique posts of mine have always done much better than expected, and I think its refreshing to see people posting content that isn’t their usual. It also gives the person reading much more of an idea of what you may be like in ‘real life’, I find personal posts much more connecting than reading about favourites, for example.

ALWAYS ASK A QUESTION

Creating an engaged audience can even occur in the comments of a post, sometimes it’s where you get a great tip from a fellow blogger from, or just someone letting you know that they know what your going through on a personal post. I always end most blog posts with a question, as it encourages the reader to get involved and leave a comment to reply to.

BE ENGAGING YOURSELF

I see a tweet every day about how rubbish some social media platforms are at engagement, and while that’s usually true, I often wonder if people are engaging with others themselves? I definitely wouldn’t expect anyone to leave me a comment on a post if I never did it to anyone else. Sharing the love is always appreciated, just be genuine with it.

STAY TRUE TO YOURSELF

This would probably be my number one life tip if I’m honest! Even if you aren’t getting an engaged audience at this moment in time, please don’t try to copy someone else who does. It’s often not the posts that are getting the views, but that people are invested in that particular blogger, no matter what they write. One day you will definitely get there, and people will keep coming back to read your content! Just keep at it, and it’ll happen.

Do you have any tips for creating an engaged audience?

It definitely takes time and a lot of hard work, being consistent is what helps a lot too! xx

Just go for girl! Whats really the worst that can happen?

  • I really agree with this! I totally agree about the social media part, I try to engage with as many people I can especially on Insta, as it seems really helpful and you can’t expect engagement if you don’t interact right? Great post xx

I think we all should be engaging, that’s what its for isn’t it?!xx

  • Yes the point about mixing up the content is so true! I’m far from being a blogging guru lol but whenever I do a post about my life or a story/experience it goes better than a generic post..but I mean, I personally love learning more about other people and seeing what makes them unique so that’s probably why! There are great tips x

      Thank you my love!

  • Love this Natalie! I’ve been so rubbish with engagement recently because I’ve been so busy back at uni and as a result my engagement has certainly dropped too! Hoping to get back on the bandwagon again soon.. xx

  • These are some fab tips, Natalie! I totally agree with being engaging yourself as this helps to build relationships with your readers and followers xx

    • NatalieLeanne

It definitely does, I love sharing my life with others! x

  • Love this post. I follow these tips all the time, I just wish people would comment more on my posts. I always ask one or two questions at the end of each post because I actually want to have a discussion with someone. So it is sad when no one comments. Please don’t read this as a pity post haha. But hopefully others will know what I mean.

    Much Love,

Ohh lovely, I know for a fact what you mean. I blogged for months with no views but just doing it for myself! You will definitely get there, it just takes time xxx

  • Diana Maria

These are all great tips! Sharing the love is important, as well as being genuine with the comments you leave. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to interact with everyone on social media but I often take breaks and try to slow down whenever I feel that way xx

Sending love & light your way,

I try to schedule in some Instagram time throughout the day then log out of the app and go back on in another few hours so I’m not on it CONSTANTLY! xxx

  • Be engaging yourself is the biggest one right! I read so many blogs, but those I know get zero engagement back (ie never a comment reply) I just don’t engage with now – because why?!?! Some I read still, but I don’t comment…
    Great post Natalie!
