I feel like Twitter is where the blogging community is the best. I’m so sad I missed out on it for A YEAR when I had my previous blog (shoutout if you remember that).
I would definitely recommend following other bloggers over there, sharing posts that you’ve read that you loved, and of course, joining in the blog twitter chats. Its such a great place FILLED with positivity.
I try to join in on twitter chats at least once a week, whether thats a girlpower chat, or blogosphere. Its a great way to get exposure, and you also get to chat with loads of like-minded people who love blogging as much as you do!
I also use Buffer to share links my blog posts on my Twitter account, as you can schedule 10 at a time, which means you’re not *constantly* on your phone. Well, not as much anyway!
For me, Instagram is the most up and down of them all. Likes and followers can be super good one day, and plummet the next. Unfortunately I haven’t ‘cracked’ the new algorithm so I can’t share any useful information.
All I try to do is post pictures that I like, and be real and authentic with my followers. The biggest way to get a wider reach on Instagram is definitely hashtags. Rhianna from Rhianna Olivia did an AWESOME Instagram chat at a blog event and its still available on her Facebook page (where I watched it). I learnt *loads* of tips & tricks, such as times best to post, making it personal to you etc. I would definitely advise you to have a little look if you feel like you’re struggling with Instagram growth. Who isn’t with that app ATM?
This is the newest one to me, but I’m starting to get into it and I feel like I’m slowly getting to grips.
I still need help when it comes to making ‘pinterestable’ images for my blog, but I just need to have a bit more time available to Google and experiment with it. Recently though, I’m really been enjoying making templates on Canva of blog posts which I then post to Pinterest on my ‘blogging’ board.
Pinterest monthly views seem crazy (mine are at 36k and I have 124 followers!), but its definitely a good figure to include in your media kit. I have a number of different boards (dream home, inspiration, food etc.) and I try to pin 3 times a day, if only for 5 minutes at a time. That way it doesn’t take up too much of my time, but I’m still fairly active on it.
Do you have any social media tips? Am I missing anything?
