WHAT I’VE LEARNED ABOUT BLOGGING

I feel like blogging for me is a constant ever-changing journey. But along the way, I’ve learned a few little things that I wanted to share with you today.

ITS NOT AS EASY AS YOU THINK

If you’re not a blogger, chances are you think all it takes is typing a few words on a page and hitting publish, but itsΒ soΒ much more than that.

Aswell as thinking of new posts and taking pictures to accompany them, you have to stay active on social media, promote, research other blogs, connect with other bloggers, reach out to brands for collaborations etc. The list is endless. Its very deceiving how much work actually goes into blogging I think.

HARD WORK PAYS OFF

Its true, it really does in blogging. Since blogging every other day and being active on social media, I’ve received monthly blog views that I didn’t think would ever be possible for me!

All the promoting, writing and snapping shots really does pay off, and feeling proud of your little corner of the internet is bloody great. Any work you put into your blog, whether thats rearranging the layout, dealing with old links or changing up your bio, all adds up to createΒ yourΒ side of the web.

EVERYONE’S DIFFERENT

There’s been a lot of talk recently about the room for new bloggers. Is it an over-saturated market? Personally, I don’t think so. I think every single blog is unique in itself, because of the person writing it. No two reviews are the same. No two lifestyle experiences are identical. I would hate for anyone out there who wants to blog but feels disheartened to not do it.

With blogging I feel like I have a set of online friends that are so supportive & I’m also doing something I love! It’s a win-win.

What have you learned about blogging?

I think your everyone’s different point is so important! I’ve actually been planning a post on this too and one of the points I was going to include is that it makes you realise how much more is out there xx

    • It definitely does, and thats awesome how many different subjects of blogs there are! x

  • Laura Emilia

I so agree about the fact that people don’t necessarily realise how much work actually goes into blogging! I’m not sure *I* even fully realise it yet – every day I think of something else I need to do to promote it or make it better in some way. It’s a constant learning curve and a process! xx

  • I love the fact that you get to chat with ladies who love the same things I do – but blogging can also be a really nasty community

    Candice | Beauty Candy Loves

    • Thats true in some cases I’m sure, unfortunately! x

  • I found myself nodding along to everything you said! There so much work that goes into blogging that people just don’t realise and it can be SO hard to juggle everything! xxx

    • Totally, I feel like I spend A LOT of time on my phone! xx

  • I totally underestimated how much time goes into maintaining a blog! There are so many behind the scenes bits that people never think of, I love doing it but it’s definitely hard work

  • Yessss I agree with all of this gal. I absolutely think there is enough room for all of us here. I am SO happy I started a blog, even just for my own nostalgic browsing! Immy x

  • Love how positive this post and I definitely agree with you, I think there is enough room for everyone who wishes to blog for the good reasons πŸ™‚ Great post πŸ™‚

  • Blogging really is a huge amount of hard work – I had an inkling it was going to be (although maybe didnt realise quite how much!) but I do get the impression that people just think we spend 5 minutes writing down any old thing, hit publish and that’s that. I dont think I would be quite so tired all the time if that was the case! Love what you have said about there being room for everyone too πŸ™‚ So glad I started blogging, I’ve learned so much in the last 5 months! xxx

    • It definitely is, I feel like I spend 90% of the time on my phone, but remembering why we do it is so important! πŸ™‚

  • I agree with all. And yes it is hard work. People that wants to do a blog to get free stuff are so naive and stupid (and harming the blogging world too ) . What I have learned about blogging? Well its bloody hard work !! πŸ™‚
    great post.

  • Blogging can really get so hard sometimes. But it’s definitely worth to work even harder for. I learned that I just can’t stop doing it and that it really is my passion. x

  • Yes, when I decided to start a blog years ago, I thought it would be a piece of cake! I was wrong! But I am so happy I decided to because I found a hobby I love. P.S. Love your dress <3

  • yep – you totally get what you put in! all the bloggers that are big now and doing this shebang full time put SO much effort into getting to where they are, i always have so much respect for them because i know how hard it can be growing a following!

it really is a full time job, right!?

    katie. xx lacoconoire.com

  • it’s such a full time effort and I think a lot of people outside the blogging world don’t really understand it! Maybe there’s a way we can make this more transparent!

  • I definitely have to agree with you! So many people think blogging is so easy, and they can not be more wrong. it takes so much time out of my everyday life. I am already planning my posts for the month of october! I really loved this post, and could relate loads xxx

  • Great post sweet! Completely agree and it’s bloody hard work! But it really does pay off when you get lovely comments, more followers and stats on your blog! You should be super proud of what you’re achieving, as so many of us should be!

  • I couldn’t agree with this more! A lot of people definitely underestimate how much hard work goes into blogging, as it takes up so much free time because there is so much to do!xx

    • There really is, some people think we have it so easy πŸ˜‰

  • Such a lovely post! I agree with you about everything. Hard work definitely does pay off. And the rewards can be amazing. No one should be disheartened to start a blog just because it appears to be ‘oversaturated’ because it really isn’t. As you said everyone is different and everyone can bring something different to the table xx

This is so true! I don’t think many people see the hard work that goes into blogging. I absolutely love it and every minute is fun and worth it for me, but it can still be a lot of work especially staying active on social media and making real connections! On a side note, that dress is gorgeous you look so lovely! xx

Sending light & love your way,

I really do not believe that blogging is oversaturated because we are all so unique and have different experiences – not one blog I’ve read has been the same and that’s a wonderful thing. And it definitely is harder to build a good website and upload great content than people think! Loved reading this girl xox
