Do I feel a bit silly for writing a post soley based on a £26 Dior product? Yes, a little. But stay with me here guys.
I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to recommend a product more than this one. Expensive yes, but so worth it in my opinion. I’m not one to splash out on high end brands, its something I rarely do, but I can’t get over how obsessed I am with this little thing.
It feels very ‘scrubby’ (great description) when you apply it on the lips, then soon blends in just leaving you with a nice, hydrated balm. No greasiness. No sticky stuff. Its housed in the most gorgeous packaging, as you would expect with Dior no less.
I’ve used it every day since I’ve got it so I’m not sure how long it will last, but I’m gonna be super gutted when its out! Who knows.. I may have to purchase another 😉
Have you tried this? Or am I slowly persuading you to? 🙂 xx
I wanted to write this post as I don’t think its talked about enough. It kind of ties in with comparison, especially in the blogging world. You see what you call a ‘successful’ blog, and expect the same number of followers as she does, to work with the same brands. The problem with expectation is it doesn’t take into consideration, hard work. You don’t know her story, or how long her blog has been going. So don’t compare. Don’t expect. Just work hard on your OWN goals. Make them personal to you, and strive towards them! We all have our own journey.
In other ways, when you expect something from someone, and you don’t get it, you fall into such a disappointed state. Whether thats with a loved one or a person at work, your expectations and over-thinking got you to such a high-elated mood, of course there’s only one way down. If you HADN’T gone this far, you would more than likely just be happy with what ended up. Trying to ‘guess’ never works.
Expectation has definitely got me good a few times. But now I’m trying to live in the moment and enjoy whats surrounding me RIGHT NOW, it hasn’t seemed to bother me at all.
What do you guys think to expectations? Lets have a discussion in the comments below!
I’ve (literally.. half an hour ago!) got back from meeting FleurdeForce at her Manchester Trafford Centre MAC lipstick event! I just posted this pic on my Instagram- link here if you want to follow me- and asked if any of you would like a post on my experience!
You said yes so heres the post!
The event was held on the lower floor of Selfridges. Manchester is about an hour away from where we live, so we arrived a little earlier to have some food and a look around the Trafford Centre- I’d never been there before! (FYI: its amazing!!)
It started at 6.30pm so I arrived at about 6.20pm and was lead to some rows of chairs with butlers there offering prosecco, aperol spritz or pink lemonade with strawberry macaroons. Once you show your ticket you get a fleurdeforcexmac wrist band and take your seat wherever is free!
Fleur came out with the speaker of MAC and a make up artist to show Fleur’s favourite MAC products and lipsticks on the models. There was also a Q&A where you could ask Fleur anything you wished. After the talk had ended, you get your lipstick which came with the £16.50 ticket and then meet the woman herself!
It was my first time attending anything like this and even meeting someone I watch on YouTube or read their blog! Fleur was so lovely and just as pretty in real life as she is on camera 🙂
The lipstick is a lovely creme-sheen formula, so it feels super moisturising on the lips and not at all drying. The colour is a stunning caramel-nude which I think would suit everyone! It of course is housed in the luxury feeling MAC packaging and that delicious scent. I can’t wait to wear it daily.
Overall, I was so happy I attended this and it was such amazing value for only the price of the original lipstick which I would of purchased anyway (well tried to, if it hadn’t been sold out!).
Are you guys lusting after one of Fleur’s lipsticks?
If you know me, you know I love decluttering. I don’t know what it is about me that just loves getting rid of shizz. I think it may be due to the after feeling of feeling lighter, I’m not really a hoarder. It’s even got to the point where I’m running out of categories to de-clutter.
2. THAT THING YOU ALWAYS SAY YOU WANT TO PICK BACK UP AGAIN!
This for me, is definitely swimming. I always say how much I want to get back into it, then never drag myself to the baths. Recently though while we were away, I packed our swimming stuff and we went to the pool. It was so nice to do some lengths and I really remembered why I missed it. Plus: it is an awesome workout! My arms haven’t felt that burn in such a long time, AND I’m a regular gym go-ger.
3. BE PRODUCTIVE
I always like to be somewhat productive on weekends. It means my week might not be as busy and I can still have some relaxation time for myself then too. Even if it means planning blog posts on a Saturday morning or finally texting that person back.. It always makes you feel better.
This could be as simple as discovering a new Youtube channel to watch, or picking up a book you have liked the look of for ages. If you’re more adventurous, venture out to a new place you’ve always wanted to go and make a day (or even two) of it!
5. SWITCH OFF
Sometimes there is nothing better than not looking at your phone for a few hours. (First world problem am I right?). We (myself included) are so glued to screens for such a large part of our day, that going phone-free for an afternoons feels like SUCH a luxury. Unusually, it also helps to not use social media if I’m not feeling that great either. Not sure why, but less complications= more simplicity.
Are you going to try any of these this weekend? Let me know which you pick! 🙂 xx
