book on bed

I feel like I’m on my way towards my goal of 50 books this year, and I’m really enjoying reading a decent amount before I go to sleep every night to wind down.

For today’s post I thought I’d do a little round-up and re-cap of the what I’ve been reading so far, and what I’ve thought about them too.

MELANIE MURPHY: FULLY FUNCTIONING HUMAN (ALMOST)- 4/5

I’m a big fan of Melanie’s Youtube channel, so I was excited to read her book and was hoping for good things. I’m pleased to say it is written exactly how she comes across in her video’s, very honest and relatable and not at all preachy. Each chapter varies from mental health, positivity or confidence issues, so there is something for everyone. I really enjoyed this one!

MARIE KONDO: THE LIFE-CHANGING MAGIC OF TIDYING- 3/5

For a rather small book, this took me a while to get through. I feel like the hype has definitely died down on this one now, but I did enjoy the majority of it, although I got rather bored at the end. There’s some really useful advice if you need to de-clutter and organise your home, but then again other pages are a bit more out-there and a bit extreme.

ANNIE CLARK: MIND BODY BOWL- 3.5/5

I love Annie’s Instagram, so I put this book on my Christmas list and was looking forward to getting stuck into it. It’s full to the brim of recipes and wellness advice, and it is all explained in a very relatable, ‘you do you’ way that doesn’t make it seem unattainable. It focuses on everybody needing different routines, food and workouts, and you feel come away feeling inspired to make a few healthier changes.

YOU ARE A BADASS- 5/5

Saving the best for last! I loved this book SO much I wanted to do a full post on it, but I thought I’d slot it in here for now instead as I’m not sure I’m the best book reviewer out there. This is by far one of my favourite books *ever* now, and it feels like it’s basically been written to be your biggest cheerleader. You come away feeling positive, inspired, and that you really can achieve your dreams. Seriously, pick this one up. You won’t regret it, promise. ITS SO FREAKING GOOD.

Have you read any of these? What should I read next?
